The Island

The Eastern Shore of Virginia is an undiscovered area with few residents and many miles of beautiful shoreline on the Bay and Ocean.
Located in the far northeastern portion is Chincoteague Island, Virginia’s only resort island.
It is one of the most picturesque island on Virginia’s Eastern Shore and serves as the entrance to  Assateague Island National Seashore which offers miles of pristine beaches and  Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge which is one of the most popular refuges in the United States, especially among bird watchers.

Chincoteague is definitely an escape from the many popular and over developed vacation spots on the East Coast. If you’re looking for amusement parks and night life Chincoteague isn’t the place for you. Traffic is light and the pace relaxed. If you enjoy the outdoors, seeing wildlife, and being around salt water teaming with marine life then you’ll want to enjoy quality time here with family and friends. However the island invites its guests to many family-oriented activities.
